Richmond Hill Studio Tour

Doors Open Richmond Hill is running in conjunction with the Richmond Hill Studio Tour. Local galleries, studios and artists welcome the public to see their work, view their creative spaces, engage in lively demonstrations, and learn more about the artistic process.

Note: While Doors Open Richmond Hill sites run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., all of the studio tours run until 5 p.m.

This historical guild hall was moved here in 1978. In 1805, the original property was sold to Captain Fulton (Loyalist and first justice of the peace in the area). Richard Vanderburgh later purchased the property and built the Georgian-style house while married to Fulton’s daughter, Elizabeth. The building is now home to the Richmond Hill Board of Trade and is a hub for fostering business growth and local collaboration.

    Participating in the Richmond Hill Studio Tour, this home studio showcases the works of Laurel Douglas Shugarman and guest artist Claudia Galletta. Shugarman produces jewelry — rings, bracelets, pendants and earrings — in silver, gold, bronze and resin, along with prints and cards and two-dimensional art. Galletta produces ceramics, experimenting with various pottery techniques, motivated through her passion of wheel throwing.
