This log cabin belonged to the Petch family, who emigrated in 1818 from Yorkshire, England. The restoration, incorporating materials from the original construction, began in 2011. A rare example of early European residential construction methods brought to Canada in the early 19th century, this house offers a glimpse into the daily life of one of the town’s first Euro-Canadian families.
