Designed in 1882 by John Day as a pharmacy for Alexander Bain Petrie, this building features a unique stamped metal façade and iconic mortar and pestle. The Western Hotel’s back wall and part of the former stables are preserved in Hunch Manifest, a semantic search marketing company. Combining innovation and heritage demonstrates Jane Jacobs’ words: “New ideas need old buildings.”
