The John Cowper House was home to a succession of prominent Dundas families. John Cowper was a furniture maker, and his son Willoughby had the first telephone in Dundas. The building is designated, and the current owners have turned it into a restaurant, which was voted in 2010 by EnRoute Magazine as one of Canada’s Top Ten Best New Restaurants.
