Originally the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Stewart Memorial Church boasts Hamilton’s longest surviving predominately Black congregation. The interior is designated for its original pressed tin ceiling and dark, wooden, curved pews. The choir sings spirituals passed down from the original congregation that were sung along the Underground Railroad. You can hear them perform on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
