Today, the O’Hara Mill Homestead is an opportunity to relive the day-to-day hardships and rewards of early pioneer life. Come and explore the restored original farmhouse, sawmill, carriage-house, shed and woodworking shop. As part of Digital Doors Open, you can explore five of their heritage buildings online and on your phone. Get an overview of the site in the video below. Start with the sawmill – one of the only known working sawmills of its kind in Ontario. Then, visit the schoolhouse and the log cabin. And finish your online tour with the blacksmith shop, the carpenter shop and the carriage house. If you are visiting the Homestead in person, you can also scan QR codes at each building to take the virtual tours on your mobile device.
