Welcome to the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine, the first and largest bilingual medical faculty in Canada. Learners here have access to state-of-the art facilities and specialized institutions as they learn alongside world-class physicians and scientists. The school offers top-quality accredited programs in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, as well as diverse topics for graduate and postdoctoral studies, and a specialized undergraduate degree in translational and molecular medicine. As a faculty, they generate approximately $130-140 million per year in research funding from provincial, federal and international sources, and are among the top faculties of medicine in the world for research impact in biomedical and health sciences. Located in the nation’s capital, they are part of a vast network of health practitioners, policy-makers and leaders with national and international influence. They are proudly partnered with five distinguished local academic health science centres: The Ottawa Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Hôpital Montfort, The Royal and Bruyère Continuing Care. In 2020, the school celebrated their 75th anniversary – and have graduated more than 5,000 medical doctors and trained over 7,000 residents.
