Ottawa Art Gallery

The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) is home to the art and artists of the Ottawa-Gatineau region, now housing a collection that numbers over 1,450 works — including paintings, sculpture, graphic arts, photographs and new media. In April 2018, OAG opened this modern purpose-built space. The gallery explores and reflects on diversity and social change through a spectrum of visual arts practices.

The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) spans five floors, with more than 5,110 square metres (55,000 square feet) of programmable space. The stunning modern building offers four exhibition spaces for historical, contemporary and touring exhibits. One of the galleries is dedicated to the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art, which includes numerous works by the Group of Seven. As a leader in the arts community, the OAG presents new ideas and provides a cultural meeting place to promote exchanges actively between artists and the community. They explore and reflect on diversity and social change through a spectrum of visual arts practices, focused on but not exclusive to the region in a national and international context. The OAG is always free, but reserved booking times are currently in place in order to keep visitors and staff healthy and safe. The building has fully accessible entrances and gender-neutral washrooms. Come and visit between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Wednesday to Sunday! (Check their website to verify up-to-date opening hours, as they are subject to change.) As part of Digital Doors Open, take a virtual tour of the Firestone Collection.
