The Woodstock Wastewater Treatment Plant treats 22,000 cubic metres of water daily – equivalent to nine Olympic-sized swimming pools – for Woodstock, Embro and Innerkip. Built in the 1930s, the plant has been upgraded in 1956, 1978 and 2007. In 2019, solar panels were installed to generate 846,000 kWh of electricity annually. The plant already reuses thermal energy to offset heating costs.
