Located on the banks of the Mississippi River — used as a source of food and a means of travel by Indigenous peoples and later as a source of waterpower for industries built by Scottish and Irish immigrants — Carleton Place has over 200 years of built history to explore.

You'll find we're a friendly bunch here in Carleton Place. We enjoy sharing our amazing town with visitors and locals alike. We love to share our inspiring history — from the arrival of our first settlers to stories of our local war heroes — our innovative inventions and locally made products, and how we're growing for the future.
