The Boyd Heritage Museum in Bobcaygeon was founded to collect and exhibit information and artifacts related to the history of Bobcaygeon and the family of Mossom Boyd, the lumber baron whose business activities shaped the history of the village beginning in the mid-19th century. Come and explore the museum to learn about Bobcaygeon's past and the surrounding area.

Christ Anglican Church was constructed between 1870 and 1871 on land donated by lumber baron Mosson Boyd. The first service was held here on Christmas Eve 1870. Built to the design of Irish architect John Belcher, it has served Bobcaygeon's Anglican community ever since. Come and explore this historical building, including its parish hall, narthex and unique stained-glass windows.

This stone wall was constructed in 1891 as part of the estate for W.T.C. Boyd, businessman and son of local lumber baron Mossom Boyd. Today, the wall is the only part of the estate that remains. Its designation and restoration were spearheaded in 2022 by Environmental Action Bobcaygeon. Learn about the history and restoration of this site from knowledgeable volunteers.

Fenelon Falls' earliest generating station was built in 1893 by the Fenelon Falls Electric Light Company and first powered five electric streetlights. Rebuilt in 1997, the current generating station — a 2.6-megawatt hydroelectric station — supplies electricity to approximately 2,000 homes in Kawartha Lakes (depending on the time of the year). During Doors Open, enjoy a rare interior tour throughout the day.

The Fenelon Falls United Church has served the community in this building since 1911. The building was constructed as the third-generation church for the local Methodist congregation, replacing buildings constructed in 1876 and 1861 — although Methodist meetings occurred in the village much earlier. Come and explore this landmark in downtown Fenelon Falls after Sunday services are complete.

This art gallery, located in the historical 1880s Fenelon Falls train station, has been showcasing the diverse talents of local artists since 2005. Come and take a look through the bay window that the station agent used to see up and down the rail line. After stepping into the past, you can browse through the diverse and high-quality artwork.

The Grove Theatre is a one-of-a-kind performance venue in Kawartha Lakes that opened in the summer of 2022. This outdoor amphitheatre hosts an annual lineup of its own theatre productions alongside appearances from Canadian guest artists, community events and a drama camp for young people. Experience this unique open-air venue during the day and see behind the scenes!

Come to the Kawartha Lakes Fire Station 22 in Fenelon Falls and meet the firefighters! This is one of 19 fire stations throughout Kawartha Lakes that protects local homes and communities. Learn about the work these firefighters do and the equipment and vehicles they use. Note: Fire crews may be required to respond to an emergency.

Maryboro Lodge, also known as the Fenelon Museum, is one of Kawartha Lakes' oldest buildings and a vibrant community museum. The estate house was built in 1837 for James Wallis and has undergone many changes over the years before becoming a museum in 1963 (note the provincial plaque to Wallis). Visit the museum for fun for all ages!

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church — the second Presbyterian church in Fenelon Falls — was constructed in 1895. During Doors Open, visitors can explore the church sanctuary. Volunteers will be on hand to provide tours and answer questions about the building. Sunday worship will take place between 10 and 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend before the Doors Open tours begin.

St. Peter's Anglican Church and cemetery once served the busy hamlet of Bury's Green. This small country church sits in the rolling farmland north of Fenelon Falls. Now privately owned and no longer operating, it is a unique opportunity to see inside this architectural gem and learn about the local families who worshipped here.

The Sturgeon Point Union Church is one of a kind in Kawartha Lakes. Built in 1915 for the cottage community of Sturgeon Point and commissioned by Lady Clara Flavelle as a non-denominational church, the unique octagonal design is executed in post-and-beam construction with large windows and a high roof, which integrate it into the surrounding natural landscape.

Located in Kawartha Lakes on the shores of Sturgeon Lake, Sturgeon Point is a picturesque community with a rich heritage and natural beauty.
