Community information

Located in southwestern Ontario and home to over 134,000 residents, Sarnia-Lambton continues to grow. It remains a leader in the research, development and product commercialization for the petrochemical and refining industries.

The community’s existing infrastructure and location on the Canada/United States border with close proximity to the metropolitan areas of Detroit and Toronto make Sarnia-Lambton an ideal destination for business. This allows for diversification into other sectors, including alternative energy technologies, industrial bioproducts and value-added agricultural products.

Encompassing roughly 3,000 square kilometres (1,158 square miles), Lambton County is further broken down into three First Nations Communities and 11 local municipalities, ranging from the urban landscape of the City of Sarnia to rural centres such as Petrolia, Forest, Alvinston and Watford.
