Come and experience the rich history of Acton in this self-guided downtown walking tour. Follow the signs at each location (posted on the day of the tour) and learn about each site on your mobile device through QR codes posted at the sites. This feature tour allows you to explore one of Ontario’s oldest town halls, several retail establishments, a tavern, a 19th-century factory warehouse, some grand homes, tenements and places of worship – all the features of a charming, small town.

Learn about Acton’s early days and residents. Most of the sites date from yesteryear, but Acton also boasts some state-of-the-art building design. Don’t miss the delightful new green library, which is decidedly 21st century.

While many buildings are closed this year due to COVID-19, visitors can admire the design and craftsmanship of the building exteriors. Some downtown businesses are open and adhering to current safety guidelines, so don’t forget to stop by for some refreshments along the way.

It's worth the drive to Acton.

Note: Many sites on this tour are private residences, so please respect private property and view all homes from the sidewalk only.
