This library, built in 1903 and designated as a heritage building in 1984, occupies a commanding site overlooking downtown Smiths Falls. The beautiful building is the only local example of the beaux arts style. Built with financial help from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, it is one of the first of the Carnegie libraries in Canada that he actually visited.
