ZooShare Biogas Plant

One of Toronto’s only renewable-energy sites open for public tours, the ZooShare Biogas Plant generates enough renewable energy to power 250 homes and businesses. Each year, they use 15,000 tonnes of inedible food waste and 2,000 tonnes of manure from the Toronto Zoo to create biogas, which is converted into electricity. Learn how biogas contributes to a more sustainable future.
