Martin Luther University College (formerly Waterloo Lutheran Seminary)

Tour the $9-million renovation of this mid-century landmark, with its multipurpose chapel, classrooms, bell tower and courtyard. New features include open gathering spaces, a brightened chapel, modernized classrooms, improved ablution facilities for Muslim students and guests, and a welcoming, canopied entrance. In his illustrated talk (1:30 p.m.), architect Terry Montgomery will describe how the renovation balanced heritage preservation and change.
